Low Pressure Carbo-Nitriding (LPCn)

ALD-Holcroft offers low pressure carbo-nitriding processes for use in both the ModulTherm and DualTherm furnace systems.

The cycle parallels that of typical Low Pressure Carburizing (LPC) with a final diffusion phase boosted with Ammonia (NH3).  Like in conventional LPC, the pulse/pause timing is case depth, temperature and material dependent. 

It is commonly known that LPCn in concert with High Pressure Gas Quench (HPGQ) can provide significant improvement in root to tooth fatigue limits as well as impact resistance when compared to LPC and HPGQ alone.
